The Chapter

The Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club of Columbia, South Carolina Chapter traces it’s beginning to the year 2006. The chapter was organized to honor the rich heritage of the forgotten African American heroes who joined the U.S. Army on July 28, 1866. As it happens so often, the accomplishments to this nation of these brave soldiers of ex-slaves and freemen have been overlooked for the most part. Yet, the WEST was won by the blood, sweat and tears of these soldiers dubbed “Buffalo Soldiers” by the proud Native warriors of the Indian Nations whom they fought against.

In the fall of 2006, the South Carolina Chapter was chartered as a non-profit organization. The Columbia, South Carolina Buffalo Soldiers mission is to come together to ride, support, and educate our community, family and ourselves of the rich history of the Buffalo Soldiers.

By wearing the colors of the National Association of Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club, we recognize and honor the “Buffalo Soldiers” selfless devotion to this nation at a time when it’s promise of freedom, equal opportunity and justice remained only a promise not a reality. Yet, by acts of valor on the battlefield, through the vigorous pursuit of excellence and an unparalleled display of patriotism, the heritage of the “Buffalo Soldiers” is one that all African Americans can be proud of.
